Queens Of The Stone AgeAlternative rock band Queens of the Stone Age is stopping in Northwest Arkansas as part of their international tour! Touring in support of their long-awaited album, …Like Clockwork, the band will perform hits like “No One Knows,” “Go With the Flow,” “Sick, Sick, Sick,” “My God is the Sun,” and more!

Queens of the Stone Age, based around singer-songwriter and guitarist Josh Homme, is one of the most interesting and critically acclaimed hard rock bands of the 2000s. The band’s eclectic approach to rock produced arty, blues-based albums that wandered stylistically from gentle acoustic songs and Delta blues stomps to Black Sabbath-like metal and the thick, sludgy garage rock characteristic of early-Nineties grunge bands. Their latest album, …Like Clockwork, debuted at #1 earlier this month and includes guest contributors like Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor, Sir Elton John and more.

Vampire WeekendVampire Weekend consist of Ezra Koenig (vocals, guitar), Rostam Batmanglij (keyboards, guitar, vocals), Chris Baio (bass) and Christopher Tomson (drums). They met while attending Columbia University.

The four guys started the group in 2006 and worked on their first studio project as indie artists while working full-time jobs. The result is a self-titled mini album which was released after they graduated from college.

One of their songs “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa” was ranked at No. 67 on Rolling Stone’s 2007 100 Best Song of the Year despite the fact that it hadn’t been released yet. The track was then dropped in 2008 as the band’s fourth single and was once covered by Genesis‘ former vocalist Peter Gabriel.

In 2008 also, they released their first major-label debut album “Vampire Weekend” via XL Recordings. It debuted at No 17 on Billboard Hot 200 and has sold more than 450,000 copies in the U.S. by the end of August 2009. Moreover, it was named the 5th best album of 2008 by Time and 56th Best Album of the Decade by Rolling Stone.

The band’s second full-length album, Contra, came in 2010 to critical acclaim. Modern Vampires of the City, Vampire Weekend’s third album was released in May of this year.

Special guest Sky Ferreira is an American singer-songwriter, model, and actress. Her first EP, As If!, was released in 2011 and her second EP, Ghost, was released in 2012 to positive reviews. Ferreira’s “Everything Is Embarrassing” was named one of the best songs of 2012 by publications such as Pitchfork Media, The Guardian, the Los Angeles Times, and Spin.

As part of a 35-city tour across the United States, alternative rock bands Everclear, Live, Filter, and Sponge are stopping in Northwest Arkansas. Turn on radio stations across the country and you’re still likely to hear hits from these four bands. With songs like “Father of Mine,” “Santa Monica,” “Lightning Crashes,” “I Alone,” “Hey Man, Nice Shot,” “Take a Picture,” “Plowed,” and “Molly”— and the list goes on and on — Summerland Tour 2013 represents a huge value for music fans and a great summer’s night out.

Everclear
Art Alexakis (lead vocals/guitar), Dave French (guitar/vocals), Freddy Herrera ( bass/vocals), Sean Winchester (drums/vocals) and Josh Crawley (keyboards/vocals)

With modern rock hits and radio staples “Santa Monica,” “Everything to Everyone,” “I Will Buy You a New Life,” “Father of Mine” and “Wonderful,” Everclear has sold more than nine million albums globally. Last year the band released Invisible Stars, their first album of new material in six years.

Live
Chris Shinn (lead vocals), Chad Taylor (guitars), Patrick Dahlheimer (bass) and Chad Gracey (drums)

Exploding onto the ‘90s alternative music scene with a string of hits such as “I Alone,” “Lightning Crashes,” “Lakini’s Juice,” “Dolphins Cry,” “Operation Spirit,” “Selling the Drama,” “White, Discussion” and “All Over You,” Live is back touring with their signature spiritual sound headed up by new lead singer, Chris Shinn, formerly of Unified Theory. Live has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide.

Filter
Richard Patrick (lead vocals/guitar), Jonathan Radtke (guitar), Phil Buckman (bass/backing vocals) and Jeff Fabb (drums)

Filter indoctrinated listeners with a stereophonic assault of hurtling drum machine-generated beats, raw guitar riffs and vocalist/guitarist Richard Patrick’s impassioned vocals on their debut album, the platinum-certified Short Bus. Brandishing an extensive body of material spanning five albums and several motion picture soundtrack contributions, Filter’s tracks include “Take A Picture”, “Welcome To The Fold” and landmark collaboration with The Crystal Method for “(Can’t You) Trip Like I Do”. Filter’s album The Sun Comes Out Tonight is slated for release in June 2013.

Sponge
Vinnie Dombroski (lead vocals), Kyle Neely (guitar), Andy Patalan (guitar), Tim Patalan (bass) and Billy Adams (drums)

Detroit-based alternative rock band Sponge went platinum on their debut album, Rotting Piñata and went Top 5 on the charts in the mid 1990’s with songs, “Plowed” and “Molly (16 Candles)”. One of the most sought after live acts around, Sponge has shared the stage with such mega-artists as Guns N’ Roses, Nickelback, Iggy Pop, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and Kiss. Sponge’s latest release is the album Stop the Bleeding.
